Introducing the “Namma Telescope” Project! Accessible Telescope to everyone

Namma Telescope is the flagship initiative of the Open Space Foundation, which aims to provide accessibility to the Telescopes. In the initial phase, the project aims to establish the Telescopes & Namma Telescope engagement centres in all schools of Tamilnadu.

Objectives: The Namma Telescope project has the following primary goals:

  • Provide schools with functional telescopes to ensure observational learning experience in science education.
  • Stimulate students’ interest in astronomy and participate in open science & citizen science research.
  • Develop critical thinking, and scientific temperament skills among students.
  • Encourage students to pursue careers in STEAM fields by nurturing their aspirations.

How to join the Namma Telescope project?

  • Submit your expression of Interest using the below given form
  • Based on the expression of interest & evaluating other factors such as socioeconomic condition, and geographical location of the institution, the Namma Telescope board will select the institutions to receive the Telescope.
